Although phpMyAdmin does a pretty good job most of the time sometimes it just doesn't have the features you need.
I've been using TOAD (Tool for Oracle Application Developers) for years now and now Quest software have released a freeware version for MySQL.
It allows you to do quite a lot of things - such as database structure comparisons - a great tool when you've run something that you think has upgraded the structures in your database and you want to know exactly what has been changed.
